An elongated eyeball (eye that is too long from front to back) is typically the cause of nearsightedness. Because the eye is longer than it should be, the incoming light rays tend to focus in front of the retina, instead of on it. This causes distant objects to appear blurry. The degree of nearsightedness determines the distance that a patient can see. A patient with severe myopia may only be able to see objects clearly up to a few inches away, while a patient with mild myopia may be able to focus on and see objects clearly several yards away. The optical correction of nearsightedness decreases the refractive power of the optical system,by moving the focal point forwards onto the retina.【Read more】
Prior to treatment, a thorough examination and consultation will always take place in order to determine whether or not the patient is a suitable candidate for laser eye treatment. Safety and diagnostics are our absolute priorities. If the examination reveals that you aren't a suitable candidate, you will be offered another solution to correct your refractive error.【Read more】
A corneal curvature is also called astigmatism, which means that the cornea is not normal but deformed. Astigmatism is a common vision disorder, which is the cause of fuzzy visibility at any distance. Astigmatism often occurs in combination with short-sightedness or farsightedness.【Read more】

Would you like to live without glasses or contact lenses? At EuroEyes we can help you with a laser eye treatment or lens treatment. Which treatment is best for you depends on your vision disorder, diopter values and other medical eye parameters, which are all determined in an eye examination. After a detailed and personal consultation, an intensive preliminary examination we will determine which procedure you are suitable for.
Important prerequisites for treatment are, for example, the stability of the refractive values and a sufficient thickness of the cornea. There should be no eye disease or pregnancy, the minimum age is 18 years. Safety and diagnostics are our top priorities. If you are not suitable for a laser eye treatment, we can usually offer you the other procedures.
